What this site provides

Ledgerwise provides free, browser-based tools that estimate United States tax outcomes, together with explanatory material about how those estimates are produced. The tools are informational. They do not prepare, review, sign, or file any tax return, and they create no professional relationship of any kind between you and us.

No professional advice

Nothing on this site is tax, legal, accounting, investment, or financial advice. We are not your accountant, attorney, or adviser. Tax outcomes depend on the complete facts of your situation, and no calculator can capture all of them. Before acting on anything you read or calculate here, review official IRS and state guidance or consult a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

Accuracy and availability

We take considerable care with the figures behind these calculators and document their sources openly. Even so, the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

Tax law changes, published figures are revised, and errors are possible. Every calculator states the tax year it applies to and the date its figures were last reviewed. Check those before relying on a result.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for how you use what comes out. You agree not to use the site unlawfully, not to attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it, and not to scrape or reproduce its content at scale for a competing service.

The text, design, structure, and source code of this site are original work and are protected by copyright. The underlying tax rates and thresholds are facts published by government agencies and are not claimed as ours.

You may use the calculators for your own personal or business purposes, and you may quote short passages with attribution and a link. Republishing substantial portions of the content or code, or building a derivative service from them, requires written permission.

Ledgerwise is an independent publisher. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or connected to the Internal Revenue Service, the Social Security Administration, the United States Department of the Treasury, any state revenue department, or any other government agency. Links to official sources are provided so you can verify our figures, and imply no relationship.
